I am constantly intrigued by the mindset of a man who didn't give up despite 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. I mean I have failed several times and desperately wanted to give up. Thomas Edison concluded "I didn't fail 1,00 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps"
Let's think about this hypothetical scenario:
Thomas Edison and every other person who tried to make the same light bulb also gave up. I guess we can conclude that there would be no light bulb today. Then perhaps, in 2020, someone tried immensely and succeeded. Congratulations! we finally get the light bulb generations have long awaited. Nonetheless, if Thomas Edison hadn't given up... He would have saved several generations that had to struggle to see without light bulbs. Although, there were other substitutes for light bulbs...I would still prefer a light bulb as it is more effective.
This brings me back to the statement made by Jordan Peterson. paraphrasing - If for 1,000 attempts Edison hadn't given up, what would he be like?
In life, we are going to be tested, that is certain! The baseline of life is difficult, but we can still prevail. It never gets easier, we just get better, wiser, and stronger. Take the bull by the horn!
Everything worth pursuing requires an avid faith in ourselves. As far as your eyes see. As long as you can see it, there is no debating that with perseverance you won't get it. He who has a why can bear any how.
I encountered several difficulties while developing this blog. The debugging process wasn't a pleasant one. I had tried developing everything from scratch nothing less than 5times. I was constantly frustrated compiled with sleepless days. Nonetheless, I was eager, my heart had anticipated the completion of the website. I had imagined it so much, I was willing to push through no matter what. Considering that this was one of the first projects I picked up to apply my full-stack knowledge and learn more.
Every obstacle shapes us. The process might not always be smooth but the process is worth it.
Sit through it, Stay through the process, and see for yourself how things played out.
